      "Oi, brat. Wake up! You’ve been asleep for far too long already. "
      You yawned and muffled an annoyed moan in your pillow as you heard the cold and toneless voice of Corporal Lance Levi ring into your ears and inside your still sleepy brain, and you sank even more into the warm, reassuring bold blanket. You just felt too tired to do anything, especially damn cleaning chores for the Corporal. Even though it was with the Corporal. You giggled at this thought, nearly forgetting his presence.
      "Oi! Don’t ignore me!"
      "…"
      "Tch. "
      You heared him making this noise of contempt and he suddenly teared off the blanket from your bed, without a single look of pity for you.
      "Gyaaaah! Seriously, Corporal!" you shouted angrily, immediatly reacting as you felt an icy air run on your skin.
      His steel grey eyes met yours and you immediately regretted what you just said when you saw his deadly stare. You were just realizing you had just shouted at your superior, and also, at the humanity's strongest soldier, able to kill the ones who pissed him in like three seconds.
      "Huuum… Good morning, Corporal?" you tempted as you gave him a quick salute, internally praying for your head not being chopped off in the following seconds.
      He didn’t say a word, still staring you with his cold eyes. You thought that he was surely waiting for apologizes, and you began with hesitant words.
      "I, uhm, well… I’m sincerely sorry for the way I yelled at you, Corporal. I’m not actually in a very good mood when I’m just waken up. See?"
      You felt like you were talking to a wall. Or a broom. Anyway something motionless that wouldn’t give a single care to what you were saying. Your last words vanished in an awkward silence and he gave an emotionless look at you.
      "Are you done yet?"
      "Y-Yes, sir..."
      "Good. In the hall in 15 minutes. We have business to do."
      "Ah… Business, sir?"
      Oh yeah. Damn cleaning chores. You rolled your eyes until you remembered that Levi was still here, and you nodded. He looked at you for a moment, like if he was trying to find what was wrong with you, and started to walk out towards the door.
      "Since you’re still a bit hurted, I won’t give you too difficult tasks but don’t use it as a pretext for being lazy. Understood, [Name]?
     "Y-Yessir."
     "By the way."
     You saluted, eyes full with concern.
     "Yes, sir?"
     "You’re sweating, chick. Go take a shower before leaving."
     "… I... Fine, sir."
     "See ya."
     He hardly slammed the door behind him without the slightest courteousness, leaving you quite scared and worried about the way he was going to make you pay for this offence towards him.

~~~
    You sighed as you went downstairs, still munching the piece of bread you had taken for breakfast. You had been placed in the squad of the soldiers in charge of surveilling Eren Jeager, just after being returned from a mission from the outside Wall, and you were resting in the Survey Corps Headquarters. Though the place had already been actively cleaned, there was always plenty of stuff to do.
      "[NAME] [SURNAME]! Have you gone mad?!"
      You screamed and automatically saluted, wondering what you had done this time. A grey-haired man was stomping towards you with a furious look on his face, looking ready to kill you with his mop.
      "Auluo-san?"
      "Are you eating in the stairs I just finished to clean up, you shitty brat?!"
      "Oh— I’m… I’m sorry."
      He sighed, passing his fingers in his greyish hair.
      "Tch, you’re such a pain in the ass! Leave to make your thing before I sink you in the well. Today Levi said you were in charge of the bedrooms of the third floor."
      "Y-Yes, sir!"
      "Ah, [Name]-san! Good morning!"
      A young fired-haired girl popped behind you two smiling, carrying a bucket full of soapy water.
      "Auluo, are you trying to imitate the Corporal again? That’s rude to insult people like that, even if what they do is wrong."
     Guh… Even if the reproach was towards Auluo, you were aimed as well, you thought with embarassment while Auluo denied Petra’s words.
      "Well, I have to go, you tried to say with a smile while the two were arguing. I’m sorry for causing you so much trouble."
      "Hmph."
      "See you, [Name]-san!"
      "Well, this shouldn't be so bad..."
     You had done all the rooms of the floor and made your way towards the last one when your eyes widened — it was actually the Corporal's. Dammit. You were extending your hand towards the door's button when you suddenly stopped, hesitating. You couldn't penetrate in his room like this, could you? The Corporal was a very secret person, who had never seemed to show his feelings to anyone. You and the others soldiers knew so few about him that you felt like a total stranger to him, even if you did saw him nearly every day. You felt that entering into his room like that, even if it was for a basic task like cleaning, would be a kind of violation of his privacy. But, on the other hand… this shiny, golden button door looked so tempting… You were asked to clean the rooms of the third floor, after all, and there you were. You would do nothing wrong, right? It was for cleaning - just for cleaning. Maybe a bit of peeking. This was probably the only chance of your life to learn a bit more about him. In an instant, your decision was made.
     You took a big sigh and turned the button of the door.
     It was locked.
     Definitively locked.
     You let out a groaning of rage and frustration, cursing yourself for your stupid thoughts of earlier. You should have thought about it, dammit! How stupid of you! You could have burned off this stupid door button with your single stare.
     "So, [Name]. How do you find my bedroom’s door?"
     "C-Corporal!"
     You suddenly jumped back from the door, ready to run for dear life. Levi was standing against the frame of the corridor's door, staring at you and clearly looking pissed off. He was wearing his usual cleaning outfit, with the tissue mask not to dirty his face - and eventually protect him from infections that could come from his inferiors. Not to mention he looked really handsome in this position.
     "U-Um… I’m… I was…"
     You tried at least to a correct manage an answer but nothing came out. You realized that it actually didn’t matter. No matter what you would be able to say, you had just clearly been caught trying to breaking into the Corporal’s bedroom, right in front of his eyes. This was surely enough to be kicked out of the army if he reported this to Erwin.
     The silence that filled the corridor started to turn pretty embarassing – especially for you. The Corporal still seemed to wait for an answer, and it looked like he wouldn’t move a finger until you would tell something.
     "I-I…"
     "I’m still waiting, Name, he said in his usual monotone voice. Do you find my room this interesting?"
     "..."
     "You know, there’s nothing amazing. A bed, two chairs, a desk and toilets to poop in the next room – like all of us. That’s all."
     Well that was gross.
     You gulped and bit your lower lip, worried, and decided to be honest with him. This was always better than lying or remaining silent like you were currently.
     "Well, if you really want to know…"
     You gulped and turned away your eyes from him.
     "The thing is… No one really knows about you in the army, Corporal. You’re someone so secret, so mysterious, that it’s pretty hard to guess your feelings or your thoughts. I find this quite disturbing… I mean, you’re a human, not a damn titan! I can understand that as a graded you have to do what is the best without thinking about your feelings, but it’s…
      "…"
     "Um, that’s why… I wanted to try… to discover a bit more about you by myself", you finished quickly, feeling absolutely stupid and useless under his looking-pissed off stare.
     He got off from the wall and walked towards you, looking at you straight in the eyes.
     "… Is that so? Do you really find me that inconsistent, [Name]?"
     "N-No, it’s not that… It’s… Uh…"
    "[Surname]. Not only do you insult me but you’re also quite impolite with me since you woke up today. I’m seriously pissed off with you, shitty piece of crap!"
     "B-But…"
     You could feel his fascinating steel-grey eyes pierce into through body and your soul as he got closer and closer to you. What the hell?! He wasn’t stopping. He wasn’t stopping!
     "C-Corporal, what…?"
     You closed your eyes, quite scared of this way of his of acting, when you felt something soft brushing your lips. You opened your eyes, completely frozed, but he had already stood back, staring at you.
     "Say, isn’t your birthday today?"
      Oh?
      "Y-Yes! It is, Corporal!"
      You couldn’t help but smiling, blushing a bit at this thought. He had remembered it!
      "Well you’re in charge of cleaning the stable. Happy birthday."
      And he returned back to his work without adding anything else. Remembering his love of cleaning, you snickered and leaned against the wall, muttering to yourself.
      "This is the best he can offer me, huh?"
      You suddenly giggled, remembering his fast kiss, and lightly made your way towards the stable.
      This was clearly the best birthday you ever had.
